Student Conference on ,,Mediation in Georgia – Current Trends and Perspectives”

Tbilisi State University National Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution (NCADR) organized National Student Conference on  ,,Mediation in Georgia - Current trends and Perspectives”  based on common initiative and signed memorandum by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), South Texas College of Law (STCL),  corporation “East West Management Institute” (EWMI) and it’s program “The Judicial Independence and Legal Empowerment Project (JILEP). National Student Conference was held on December, 16 in P. Melikishvili named auditorium (TSU 1st building, #115).

 

In the first part of conference students presented their presentations about current trends of mediation developemnt.  They had also discussion focused on existing institutes in Georgia, where mediation is already implemented. The second part of the event was devoted to mediation development perspectives in Georgia.

 

At the end of the conference discussion took place within the format of round tables and three best authors of the research papers were nominated by jury. Those authors are: Tamar Khuchua (Student of TSU Law faculty - 1st place), Pelagia Makhauri and Beka Khitiri (Students of TSU Law Faculty - 2nd place), Shorena Zumbadze (Law Faculty Student at the University of Georgia - 3rd place). Memorable prizes were awarded to the winners of the conference.
